2025 was EXHAUSTING

It's November and I can't believe that we are almost into the year 2026. It's really true that time waits for no one. This is my last year at UALR and I am taking Web Development (again) this semester. The course has been very helpful and actually seems like the professor wants to see us succeed in the course. The last three weeks I have been trying to manage my work schedule, my kids being sick, and all the other hiccups of life in between. I have had this blog page since 2013 and I haven't put much effort into it. I have always had a passion for creating projects, it's the seeing it through part that keeps me at bay. I'm challenging myself to be more disciplined and consistent in pursuing my passions, and prioritizing myself more. It's hard when you're sole existence seems to revolve around your children and catering to others 99% of the time but a blog will help me track my progress with Avinnovate, and just grow a following online.

Last month I was able to explore Chicago, which I must admit is my favorite city in the States. I could see myself living there long term and it has this southern charm about it but it's packaged in a major city. Sophisticated, artsy, and full of culture. The food is always amazing and I get lost just looking at all the architecture throughout the city. I was able to attend Open House Chicago while in the city. The event was from October 18-19, 2025. When we arrived in the city it was the National No King's Day protests going on, and that was historic but chaotic at the same time. It was a much needed break but the work doesn't stop, it was just a moment to take everything in for where I am right now in my journey and a reminder to keep going. I made it my business to take more photo's this year and to promote myself as a photographer. I'm going to take my own family photos for the holidays this year and start from there. I have taken a couple headshots this year for members in the Junior League and for friends. I aspire to start 2026 booked and busy.

Let's work!

Fall/Winter Staples: The Oversized Coat

Lets get back to business.  Here are a few of this season's most buzzworthy Fall/Winter 2013 must have... none other than the coveted OVERSIZED COAT. From inspirations including military styles, playful colors , mixed-media textures, and asymmetrical/architectural designs these are some of the trends that every fashionista must have. The Trench Coat has always been a go to for outerwear. Its very versatile and chic, whether you dress it up with skyscraper heels or give it edge appeal with combat style military boots this is one all around class act, also another trend I have seen with the trench in particular is the featuring of mixing different textures commonly termed mixed-media. Like the one I have shown here from Sam Edelman that can be found at Dillard's , alongside this ravishing Steve Madden trench with faux leather arms. Next in the line up is the oh so sophisticated Cocoon ...
