50 Shades of Summer

Designer Spotlight: Chavon Sewell

Sunshine Orange Braided Bandeau Tube Top

Reversible Sunshine Orange Tie Dye Cut Out Contour Dress
Now that summer has officially began. Here are some of the trends I have been following and raves that I love this season. Summer to me means big hair, bright colors, tie dye, floral prints and protective styling for my "naturals"  when it comes to hair tips. Subtle make up, sun kissed skin, shades of nude, skin tight denim in many variations (ripped, frayed, dyed, and acid stained) lets not forget those sexy, shoes with straps for days.

Indie Artist, Chavon Sewell. Sporting her rendition of  tie dye with her romper designed by Sewell herself for Chavon Shree which can be found on Etsy or Jeante One of One Boutique here locally in Little Rock, AR. Designer is shown again in the bottom picture in her Chavon Shree High Waist Wide Leg Pants in a vibrant lime green complemented by an Urban Outfitters triangle cut out tank in contrasting grey.

These Bold High Waist Pants are sure to be a conversation starter from Indie Designer Chavon Sewell for Chavon Shree fashions. I would pair them with my favorite chunky heel platform or a sassy wedge for a more heightened look to add lift for the fit of the wide legs of these fashionable trousers.

Summer isn't quite summer without a vacay/mini-vacay or weekend getaway just relax, unwind, and reset from all of the crazies that we deal with the other 275 calendar days of the year. So be sure to take time out to take time off this summer. No telling where I was headed but car selfies are the best to me. #Wavy
White Tank Scuba Dress with Mesh Back (LuLus) Cobalt Blue Skirt with White Aztec Print  hem (Francesscas) Watch (Michael Kors) Accessories (Vintage) Yellow Single Strap Open Toe Heeled Sandal (Steve Madden)
White is the epitome of summer fashion colors my opinion. From all white partys, to the age old fashion rule of "No white before Easter or After Labor Day" but anywhere in between is fair game....Well obviously that rule no longer applies because in fashion right now there are no rules! I complemented this ensemble with a loud yellow single strap open toe sandal. Highlighted with a Cobalt Blue Skirt with Ivory Aztec print around the hem. My hair is one of my favorite no fuss go to styles in warmer weather. Braids. In any variation, these faux locs are called Marley Twists (yeah like Bob) and were very cute for the weekend festivities.

Fall/Winter Staples: The Oversized Coat

Ok, now that most of us have came down from our sugar rush and  post Halloween hangovers . Lets get back to business.  Here are a few of this season's most buzzworthy Fall/Winter 2013 must have... none other than the coveted OVERSIZED COAT. From inspirations including military styles, playful colors , mixed-media textures, and asymmetrical/architectural designs these are some of the trends that every fashionista must have. The Trench Coat has always been a go to for outerwear. Its very versatile and chic, whether you dress it up with skyscraper heels or give it edge appeal with combat style military boots this is one all around class act, also another trend I have seen with the trench in particular is the featuring of mixing different textures commonly termed mixed-media. Like the one I have shown here from Sam Edelman that can be found at Dillard's , alongside this ravishing Steve Madden trench with faux leather arms. Next in the line up is the oh so sophisticated Cocoon ...
