Who said shopping could not be beneficial? The emergence of many "cause based" clothing companies have become mainstream in the recent few years, with brands like Toms and their now global campaign charity movement One for One has made giving back not only cool, but fashionable. The mission behind the One for One  organization, is for each pair of Toms shoes sold a pair of shoes will be donated to a Child in need, and the idea has went viral. Today Toms has donated over 10 MILLION pairs of shoes worldwide. The giving has evolved, not only do they give shoes, but now Toms also donate glasses to children in need. To get the full scope of the good things going on at Toms check out the link here to go to their website. Speaking of glasses check out Warby Parker and their latest winter collection of vintage frames. They also follow the same mindset of "buy one, give one" their mission at WP is simple. "Do Good". The Warby Parker  approach is a bit different from the above mentioned company Toms, because their platform actually gives low income entrepreneurs in developing countries the skills to start their own business of selling eye-wear. So just from purchasing a pair of these vintage, modern, and sophisticated specs could actually grant an individual their livelihood and the ability to gift someone the pleasure of vision..isn't that a sight to see. The feel good approach of consumerism doesn't stop there with the inclusion of 1:Face Charity Watch  a cause based watch company. The mission behind the 1:Face brand is many. Your purchase of one of their color-coded cause watches can be beneficial to many social problems such as: Water, Hunger, AIDS, Cancer, Environment, Breast Cancer, and Education. To check out these sleek, modern and vibrant watches go to 1:Face Charity Watch website in this link shown here to get the rundown on the countdown to help save the world one watch at a time. So be a cheerful giver this holiday season by truly giving a gift that keeps on giving world wide.

Lets get back to business.  Here are a few of this season's most buzzworthy Fall/Winter 2013 must have... none other than the coveted OVERSIZED COAT. From inspirations including military styles, playful colors , mixed-media textures, and asymmetrical/architectural designs these are some of the trends that every fashionista must have. The Trench Coat has always been a go to for outerwear. Its very versatile and chic, whether you dress it up with skyscraper heels or give it edge appeal with combat style military boots this is one all around class act, also another trend I have seen with the trench in particular is the featuring of mixing different textures commonly termed mixed-media. Like the one I have shown here from Sam Edelman that can be found at Dillard's , alongside this ravishing Steve Madden trench with faux leather arms. Next in the line up is the oh so sophisticated Cocoon ...
