Following a dream

Hello World,
As you all can see this will be my "baby" of what I envision myself doing in the very near future. You have to start somewhere right :) So here it goes. I have always had a strong desire for creativity but I guess you could say I was afraid of failing or not being excepted. My two passions in life are music and fashion. So I decided that "Hey, I want to start a blog where I can combine the two things that I really enjoy doing and see if I can create a big enough following to establish a name for myself in this social media business". My dad has always said that our generation has the most valuable tool of modern technology (The Internet) so why not use it as a way to market your own brand instead of investigating random profiles of "Friends", and trying to tell your whole life story in less than 140 characters, or snapping tons of pointless photos of  yourself doing the trademark "duck face" or the new trend of "selfies" on other social media hubs. I want to inspire other young women who have big dreams but do not feel like they have a voice to start today on whatever you feel your heart is truly passionate about go after it! No one else will believe in you if YOU don't believe in yourself (Took me a while to understand this concept as cliche' as it may sound). In the next upcoming weeks my goal is to accomplish the start of the movement that I want to establish by creating fashion forward look books for the College Girl to the Young Professional Woman including style concepts for: Day-to-Day looks, Comfy,Cozy,Cute looks for the upcoming winter months, Date Night, and Business Casual/Formal looks, also  following style trends for the "hipsters", while being an outlet to upcoming indie designers, boutiques, and musicians. I do not just want to blend-in with the other cluster of bloggers out there. I want to be an Innovator. This will not just be a blog site but a Lifestyle site for the modern, fashion enthused, music driven, art craving, healthy conscious, travel frenzied  woman of our generation :)

Hope to see y'all soon,
Avi

Fall/Winter Staples: The Oversized Coat

Ok, now that most of us have came down from our sugar rush and  post Halloween hangovers . Lets get back to business.  Here are a few of this season's most buzzworthy Fall/Winter 2013 must have... none other than the coveted OVERSIZED COAT. From inspirations including military styles, playful colors , mixed-media textures, and asymmetrical/architectural designs these are some of the trends that every fashionista must have. The Trench Coat has always been a go to for outerwear. Its very versatile and chic, whether you dress it up with skyscraper heels or give it edge appeal with combat style military boots this is one all around class act, also another trend I have seen with the trench in particular is the featuring of mixing different textures commonly termed mixed-media. Like the one I have shown here from Sam Edelman that can be found at Dillard's , alongside this ravishing Steve Madden trench with faux leather arms. Next in the line up is the oh so sophisticated Cocoon ...
