Fly Chicks in Flyer Kicks #Trending

courtesy of Complex Magazine
In the past few years we have seen a big trend of ladies getting in on the lucrative "side hustle" of being a "sneaker head" . Selling and trading not too mention advertising major athletic shoe brands including; Nike, Adidas, Reebok, and Jordan to name a few of the forerunners of the urban fashion sub culture of sneaker collecting. Bringing in an extra  income of up to 10K or more, if not their sole income (depending shoe brand and the amount of merchandise sold). I have never been a big athletic shoe type of girl myself personally. I have to admit, me being a single mother. I do not really have that many opportunities to bring out the stilettos as often as I use to. Prior to being a mom. That being said,  sneakers have become my new go to shoe. So here are a list of some of the latest sneaker trends debuting this season as well as some picks I found pretty cool to say the least.

Lets start the list with iconic sneaker brand Jordan. CEO of the Multi-Billion dollar company none other than legendary NBA hall of famer Michael Jordan himself. Here I have the first and only pair of Jordan's  I have owned the  Jordan X,worn by Teyana Taylor.  Most recognizably known from MTV series, Sweet Sixteen  and recording artist to hip hop super star Kanye West. To record label G.O.O.D. Music. Did I also mention that both Teyana and Kanye have their own sneakers out on the market? Kanye has a venture with Nike but just recently left Nike to partner with Teyana's cohorts over at Adidas where she teamed up to market her Harlem GLC that debuted earlier this year 2013.

Next on the line up is arguably the most well known shoe brand around the world, Nike. Being commonly linked to some of the sport industries top performers such as; Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and LeBron James to list a few. This season they have set the bar at an all time high once again with their take at the Fall fashion trend, the sneaker wedge. Here I have shown the limited edition liquid metal pack in the retro style Dunk Sky Hi sneaker wedge by Nike. These captivating kicks will be sure to have all eyes on you. In the lustrous metallic elements of gold or silver, the shiny leather will have no choice but to let you shine bright. They live up to their name too, with Nike paying great detail to the metal themed sneaker by having the periodic table element symbol on the tongue of each shoe in your choice of Ag or Au pick your element fast because these are a sure sell out. There are a wide variety of the Sky Hi sneaker wedges out on the market right now. So be sure to shop around, I am sure there is something out there for anyone to fall in love with. I mean it's Nike, you cant go wrong.

Next on the line up lets talk classic Reebok and their attempt to keep up with today's ever changing fashion trends. They sure did pick a good candidate to collab with to do the job too. Im sure you guys have figured out now that I am a fan of accessory queen Melody Eshani. Considering I have featured her work in one of my previous posts Earrings....Make a Statement. Well be sure to keep an eye out for these style walkers right here, Melody Eshani x Reebok have came together to create what I think an exquisite, yet fashion forward approach of the sneaker. These python theme printed shoes not only take a walk on the wild side but give you extra edge with the spikes found alongside the back heel of the shoe in shiny gold plated spikes. Then M.E. ties it all together in colorful, and flirty neon green laces that broadcast the word LOVE at the base of the shoe laces. Melody Eshani x Reebok do some revamping for the upcoming Spring 2014 look with more vibrant colors that will most definitely scream "fashion killa" and give and exotic feel to the shoe, which will be right on time for the Spring/Summer season ahead. What better way to make an impression on someone, other than by whats on your feet when you walk in the room? You can see celebrity Cassie posing in her M.E kicks here that she posted on her Instagram account in the first edition of the shoe that debuted late 2012.

Finally you can't talk fly kicks with out talking Adidas. The originators of fresh at the Adidas camp, have been cooking up some pretty savvy sneaks. Like the ones shown here by pop princess Selena Gomez. Her Neo Collection by Adidas are in stores now, and I must say...young girl has taste. So be sure to check out these dope kicks, as well as the above listed sneakers I have featured. They will be a great gift idea for all of the special someones on your list this holiday season. Whether you are an avid sneaker connoisseur, want to stand out in the crowd, or the transitioning sneakerhead going from sky high pumps to retro dunks. These are sure to be an all around hit!

Ok, now that most of us have came down from our sugar rush and  post Halloween hangovers . Lets get back to business.  Here are a few of this season's most buzzworthy Fall/Winter 2013 must have... none other than the coveted OVERSIZED COAT. From inspirations including military styles, playful colors , mixed-media textures, and asymmetrical/architectural designs these are some of the trends that every fashionista must have. The Trench Coat has always been a go to for outerwear. Its very versatile and chic, whether you dress it up with skyscraper heels or give it edge appeal with combat style military boots this is one all around class act, also another trend I have seen with the trench in particular is the featuring of mixing different textures commonly termed mixed-media. Like the one I have shown here from Sam Edelman that can be found at Dillard's , alongside this ravishing Steve Madden trench with faux leather arms. Next in the line up is the oh so sophisticated Cocoon ...
